Pajarita means "little bird", like my daughter's name "Ave". This song is about the love a father has for his daughter. I know that usually "Pajarita" is spelled "Pajarito" and refers to both sexes, but an elderly Guatemalan lady said it was ok to use the female tense, so there. This is in the style of a classic Cuban guajira, with rhodes instead of tres, and fender jazz bass instead of baby bass.
